Fanart Friday – Bored to Death

I freaking love this show.

It’s come to my attention that some people might not have the superhuman vision I seem to possess and have been having trouble with the font on Vapor Trails, so I’m going to go back and enlargenate it or something to make it more readable. In related news, please take a moment to go over and check out yesterday’s page done by my longtime cohort, Lindsey Lea. It’s neat and should be a treat for you GBM fans.

Finally I want to give a shout out and hearty good luck to everybody at the Long Beach One Day Expo this weekend. Let’s hope they get some crazy attendance! Go buy shit from Lance, Woody, Dan, Ryan, and all the other talented creators out there!

Fanart Friday – Miyazaki & Noby Noby Boy

I’m tryin a new thing out here. Wednesday night I put the tweet out there to ask for fanart suggestions and ended up with a whole bunch of suggestions, most of which involved Miyazaki flicks (and one Escaflowne which I will totally get to at some point I promise because I loved the movie). And Noby Noby Boy.

So I came up with this…I hope I can keep it up because it was a ridiculous amount of fun. Wednesday’s I’ll be asking for suggestions for the next fanart piece on my twitter, at which point I may or may not actually take it, and then I’ll be posting the results on Friday. Here’s this week’s!

Don’t ask for a story on this one, you’re just going to have to make it up on your own.

And go read Vapor Trails dammit!

Wondercoooooon

I’m back from Wondercon and barely alive. I can’t express enough gratitude to everyone in San Francisco that made the trip so incredible, but Chunk and Sonia and Sam can pretty much count themselves as the greatest human beings to ever bless the Bay Area. No joke.

I didn’t do a whole lot of shopping this con, but I did read some cool ass books. Nate Simpson, aside from being a super fella, has an amazingly beautiful book called Nonplayer which most of you should be familiar with because of his Project Waldo blog. Really cool stuff, that guy deserves every bit of work that comes to him. I also read Joe Casey & Mike Huddleston’s Butcher Baker: The Righteous Maker, a book that pretty much oozes kicking ass. I also picked up some indies and minis which I haven’t even thumbed through yet but I’ll plug them later.

The show itself was a lot of fun, if a little bit crowded. But it wasn’t unwalkable like SDCC can get to be. Mostly it was just a little stuffy. The Isotope parties, however, were something else. James Sipes was an incredibly gracious host to a sea of great people. Also I got to smoke a cigarette with Frank Quitely at 3 in the morning and that was pretty much worth my whole trip.

Just as a heads up, I covered a couple of Wondercon panels for CBR! Click below to see what I was doing every evening at the con!

Vapor Trails / Art Process

Holy crap, it has been a while huh? I’ve been on a self-enforced radio silence for a while now…the projects were piling up and I honestly didn’t have anything I could show off on the blog.

But now everything’s out in the open and I can show some stuff off!
